The Anchor Academy exists to bring all kinds of quality and creative learning opportunities for kids. The Anchor Academy was founded by Christie Abney, a successful business owner, children’s educator and ministry leader. In mid 2024, Christie went to work gathering local talented artists, educators and teachers to become fellow instructors at The Anchor Academy. It was important that each instructor be a talented advocate in their field as well as the ability to communicate their joy to others. 

Her vision is to keep expanding and adding programs that enhance the lives of kids in the Lake Cumberland region. Her hopes are to provide all the steps necessary to make children’s creative dreams come true.
